The Conseil Général des Alpes-Maritimes
The Conseil Général des Alpes-Maritimes is the NUC partner since the first AIDA world championship in1996.It has supported all competitions and records. We notice the investment of Christian Estrosi, President of the Conseil Général between 2003 and 2008, and of Eric Ciotti, current President of this institution.
Nice Côte d'Azur
The city of Nice has been the NUC partner since 1989. Christian Estrosi is the current Mayor of Nice and the President of a cities community called Nice-Côte-d’Azur. Loic Leferme, Pierre Frolla, Guillaume Néry, world recordmen, and Aurore Asso, french recordwoman were trained in this freediving association called NUC whom the city of Nice supports.
The city of Villefranche-sur-Mer
The Rade of Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the best freediving spot for freediving in the world. Gérard Grosgogeat, Mayor of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Pascal Hernandez, delegate to sport have strongly supported the historical world record of Loic Lerferme at 171m in 2004 and the 1st individual AIDA depth world championship in 2005. These two events have contributed to maintain the reputation of this world freediving spot.
University of Nice Sophia Antipolis
The University of Nice-Sophia-Antipolis decided in 1991 to create freediving trainings for its students at the university pool. This pool has been the meeting place for numerous scientific studies and educational work about safety. Albert Marouani, President of the University supports the development of freediving in the university since his selection. Pascal Bistarelli, vice president, delegated to the sport is a teacher at the faculty of sport sciences.
The Faculty of Sport Sciences
The faculty of sport sciences is the place where Loic Leferme, Pierre Frolla, Guillaume Néry studied with Claude Chapuis as teacher. This is the only faculty in France to propose this freediving speciality for sport students. Delphine Marleux and Claude Chapuis are the two teachers of this faculty responsible for this speciality. Delphine is also involved in all actions concerning the sustainable development. This faculty works since 1996 with Joseph Strazzanti, nautical sports specialist and sport organization consultant. J.M.Garbarino and E.Billi are in charge of this faculty for several years.
